  The way I normally create a Bitly link seems not to be working, has something changed?

  Wordpress.com has its own url-shortener, https://wordpress.com/support/shortlinks/

  Thankyou for your reply, but as far as I can see, the shortlinks can only be used by WP people with a Premium Plan, which I am not?
