Bit.ly clicks not counting.
-
So I use bit.ly for non-transactional links in my marketing emails (blog, twitter, etc.).
I received 1800+ clicks to the blog in my last email and site stats didn’t pick this up. I saw on a previous forum that you filter bitly clicks? Is there a way to retroactively get those site clicks added, and going forward I will just not use bitly?
Thanks!

I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it. Know that spammers use bitly links so I expect that is why they are filtered out.

There’s no way to restore those referral links. Sorry I can’t be more helpful, but let me know if there’s anything else I can do.

No worries. I’ll just add them manually in this month’s report and put a note. Going forward I will not use bitly. Thanks anyway!

Do you recommend another bitly-esque service to track unique clicks from a link? (That WordPress will track properly)?

You could try using a bit.ly-esque service that lets you create your shortlinks with your own domain.
I will admit, I’m not completely up with all the shortening services lately as I personally haven’t had a need for them in a while. I can dig into it further if you have more questions though. :)
