  Hi,
  I am completely new to using WordPress and I opened BitNamiStack yesterday to get started and it is having connection issues that are preventing me from even being able to proceed past the first installation step. I know that I can proceed to publish on WordPress without this feature but I also understand it to be an important part of the process, can someone explain to me the relationship and potentially what I need to do to fix the issue and also I’m sorry for such a basic question!

  Hi,

  BitNami is used for WordPress.org sites not WordPress.com sites, which is what you have.

  Here is some information on the differences between .com and .org http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  If you would like to go the .org route I recommend you check out WordPress.org support http://wordpress.org/support/
