Bizarre notifications & gravatars that aren't.
-
Hi there,
If you look at my CURRENT post on http://www.VodkaWasMyMuse.wordpress.com, you will see that when I respond to Androgoth –
1. I had to fill in my email address, my name and my website address in the form in order to be able to reply to his comment;
2. I got an instant notification saying “Noeleen has replied to a comment” or something; and
3. My gravatar does not show.You will notice I have a MAIN blog http://www.wordsfallfrommyeyes.wordpress.com – and it is happening there too, but I direct you to my current Vodka post because I say to Andro “I hope you’re getting these messages”. I wonder if he replies/if he got my replies to his comments.
I took a MAC screen shot if you want me to email it to you – but it’s just of the notification.
Please can you check things on my TWO blogs and ensure I don’t have to fill in a form to reply to my subbers plus my gravatar shows (it is NOT showing when I ‘comment on OTHER blogs’ but DOES show when I ‘ilke’ OTHER blogs. This is really weird sheets.
Thank you,
Noeleen

Gravatars are linked to email addresses. The email address you entered is not the same one as your WordPress.com account and does not have a Gravatar associated with it.

This is interesting, macmanx. I didn’t know the gravatar was linked to email addresses.
But sometimes when I log in as WordsFallFromMyEyes (because I CANNOT log in as VodkaWasMyMuse – it doesn’t work) – well, up until now, my gravatar showed in both blogs. That’s what I’m not understanding – the change, that now it doesn’t… apart from having to fill in a form and being notified of my own comments!!! Nuts!

Well, you’re being notified of your own comments, because as far as the system is concerned, they aren’t your comments.
You’re filling out the Guest commenter form.
make sure that you click on the little WordPress logo at the bottom of the comment for to comment from your own account.
