Black Background CSS on IOS Devices
-
Hi, Sacredpath was kind enough to help me out a few months ago, but now I see my blog does not display correctly in Safari, nor the App on my Ipad…although it displays correctly on my desktop. I should clarify that it displays the main blog correctly, but when you click on the blog to see the entire article, that page shows up as a white background and you can’t it. Here’s the page that doesn’t display correctly: http://actionmediaproductions.wordpress.com/2014/07/15/how-my-work-helped-raise-my-awareness/ thank you for any direction…hopefully there’s a solution. Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I just took a look at your site on an iPad and the page in question still had a black background for me:
Is this still having the same issues on your end? Let me know!
-
Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to look. I have two ipads and an iphone, same issue on all 3, whether i use WP App or Safari. It doesn’t happen on the main page, only when you click the title of the blog and go to the subsequent page where the whole blog including gallery resides. would sending an image work? I could upload one to dropbox and put a link here. thanks again… Jeff

Would you mind taking a screenshot? Just of your site in Safari would be great, and you can upload it to your media library and I’ll take a look at it there.
Thanks so much!

Hi…thank you. I’m uploading to media library now, it’s called Jeff Blog IOS Problem…or something like that. :-) Jeff

Ah ha! I see what you mean now! It has to be in portrait mode in order to see it, but now I see what you’re talking about. It seems to be loading the original CSS in portrait mode despite the CSS you’ve already entered. I will definitely get this looked at by someone in our Theme department, as I have no idea how to sort this out. We’ll see what we can do!

WOW, I didn’t even realize that it worked in landscaped mode, I just automatically look at sites in portrait…so good catch on your part. somewhat relieved that it can be viewed at least in one mode. I tend to have tech issues that are obscure :-) thanks…I really appreciate you following up…customer service is what it’s all about and you do it well. Jeff

HAHAHAHAHA!!
Success! It took a while chatting with one of our amazing developers, but we finally figured this one out (I think). Go ahead and check out your site on your iPad and let me know if this is what you were looking for. :)

you’re geniuses…thank you. is it something I need to be aware of on future posts or it’s all taken care of? was it something I did when I changed the CSS? I really appreciate it, if there’s a place i could write and tell how wonderful your support is, let me know and I will. Jeff

No, I don’t think this is anything that you did, though I would be careful of that last entry in your CSS file. That’s what makes the iPad/iPhone background stay black. And you should be good for any future blog entries as well, it’s not just this one.
And thanks so much for your offer! Just like usual you should be getting a “How did we do” type survey in a day or two. We always appreciate your honest feedback in how we did and how we could do better.
Thanks so much for your patience in this whole process!
