black band — top of page – The Fontfolio Theme

    hi I just switched to the Fontfolio theme and there is this odd black band at the top of the page. Any way to get rid of it?

    Also, any way to move the menu bar so that it is centered under the blog’s title and subtitle? ideally i would also like the search box to disappear.

    i have custom CSS but have not added any custom code yet.
