Black box across inserted text
-
I compose my text in Word then cut and paste it. But when I do so, the bottom portion is behind a black box, and I have to peer through to see my cursor, make any small edits, and move the cursor to where I may want to insert something else. I’m sure it has something to do with this ridiculous ‘block’ approach but I don’t know how to work around it.

Hi there,
This is an issue that other users of the Safari browser have reported, and it looks like you are using Safari as well, yes?
It seems that the issue is related to the cache/cookies for WordPress.com are stored on your end, so if you reset these, it should clear up the issue.
Apple has a guide here you can follow, under the “Remove stored cookies and data” section here: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-and-website-data-sfri11471/mac
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/
If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.
If it is, please do these two things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.
