Black out when I edit my post that I can get rid of.

    When I am editing my post, there is a black out at the bottom of the page or block that prevents me from seeing the block that I am editing and I don’t know how to get rid of it.
    Can you email me at (email visible only to moderators and staff) and help me?

    The site I need help with is weatherpro.wordpress.com.

    Hi there,

    This is a bug in the editor that’s mainly affecting the Safari browser.

    The bug has already been fixed over on WordPress.org, but we’re still waiting for them to release the update that contains the fix. Once that update is released, it will be updated here on WordPress.com as well.

    In the meantime, please temporarily switch to a different browser like Firefox or Chrome.

    For your information … I tested this morning and now it seems as the problem is solved. I tested it yesterday but the the black overlay was still there but not anymore. Now everything looks normal and I can write blog posts using Safari again.

    I’m on Safari 13.1.2 and unable to upgrade until later this year so I’m very pleased that the problem is solved :)

    It looks like the new version of the editor was released yesterday, and has since been updated on WordPress.com as well.
