Blank editor all of a sudden due to Gutenberg plug-in
-
Hi there,
Last night, around midnight, I was able to edit my blog posts without an issue. Today, at 9:00 am, attempting to edit any of them resulted in a blank screen. I cleared all caches, including object cache, from the Settings/Performance tab of my site. Disabled all of my browser’s extensions for good measure. Disabled all plug-ins and started testing, one by one.
This proved the Gutenberg plug-in to be the problem. What could have caused this to start overnight? How can I fix it?
My blog is located at http://www.squelfland.com. Apologies in advance for making you look at it, it’s a bit color-intense.

I need to add something: recently (for a couple of weeks) I noticed that I could no longer search for my custom pattern blocks within the editor on the search bar that pops up when you select the “+” symbol to add a block. If I selected “browse all”, then it was possible to search through my patterns. This issue, too, has resolved itself after disabling the Gutenberg plug-in. So I guess that’s two problems the plug-in is causing that I am unsure of how to fix…

I’m so sorry, I think my thread may have gotten buried at this point. I would still greatly appreciate any assistance… 🙏

Please, can someone help me? Am I asking incorrectly for help somehow/is more information needed? If so, I am sorry. I don’t know what else to include…

Hello there,
This is WordPress.com support.
I had a look at your account and went into your dashboard, and everything was working correctly when I tried.
The Gutenberg code is the same as what is used on every site we have on our network, so it shouldn’t be that.
From what you describe, it sounds strongly like a cache issue. I know you have tried all these steps. Have you had a chance to try it on another device on another network perhaps?
From this end, we can’t see any issues with the site. It’s all working ok.
It’s hard to know what to suggest with people’s individual connections though as it’s not something we have direct control over.
We’ve flushed the site’s cache as a precaution just in case.
Also, I noticed you are on the Business plan. You are actually entitled to very quick support if you email us directly or reach out to live chat via the WordPress.com dashboard.
