Blank page trying to create a new site
-
I want to create a brand new blog on WordPress.com but when I go to my dashboard and click on “Add new site”, it takes me to the page https://wordpress.com/setup/onboarding/domains?source=sites-dashboard&ref=new-site-popover&start_ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.com%2F
WordPress.com appears in the top left hand corner, but then the page goes blank and no amount of refreshing the page fixes the issue. This is preventing me from adding to my blog collection. Is anyone else having this issue? -
It sounds like a temporary loading or cache issue on WordPress’s onboarding page. Try these quick fixes:
Clear your browser cache or open the link in an incognito/private window.
If that doesn’t work, try a different browser or disable extensions like ad blockers.

Clearing the cache makes no difference. I already tried that. Ditto other browsers – I even tried my other laptops. Same problem.
Disabling the ad blocker means disabling Malwarebytes totally and I am very reticent to do that. Besides, that hasn’t been an issue before now.

When I go to the link to create an additional site the URL is slightly different to the one in your first post. At the end where it says “wordPress.com” I see the full URL of my existing site. I assume you have at least one site already so perhaps try inputting the full URL there?

Malwarebytes is the culprit as it’s a known fact malwarebytes does block wordpress.com falsely. You must take a look in malwarebytes documentation to find out how to unblock wordpress.com

Thanks, Staartmees. I went to look for that and the advice was too complex, so as much as I hated doing it I switched Malwarebytes off and rebooted my browser. I was then able to access the page I linked above. I’ll lodge a complaint with Malwarebytes about that.
