Blank screen with only center (W) logo
-
Hello,
Since last week, my administration screen disappeared but blank screen with only center(W) logo as
https://ishidahokudai.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/20160904-wordpress-trouble.pngBut former version ‘WP-admin’ works, except the link to newer (not wp-admin) administration system.
I’m using Windows 7 IE 11, but other enviromnents have not been tested now. Disabling VirusBuster seemed to change nothing. Cache clear [ctrl-F5] also no change.
Many people in this forum encountered the same problem as
https://ishidahokudai.wordpress.com/2016/09/05/wordpress-administration-trouble/Is anyone can help (except installing another browser) ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem and WordPress support has not yet responded to my query. I think the problem lies with an upgrade carried out by wordpress last week, the result being that the new wordpress system no longer works with old versions of certain internet browsers (such as Internet Explorer or Google chrome – however, it works with Safari with an Apple OS).
It is very annoying. The blog I need help with is http//www.newstrum.wordpress.com
Dear WordPress Support staff, can you please help?

In order to help you Staff need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through the list that follows and report your details back here.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.

Hi there,
I also have IE11 on Windows 7 and I can load all pages on WordPress.com without problem, so it’s unlikely that it’s a browser issue. We also did not have any updates last week that would affect browser compatibility.
If the problem occurs over multiple browsers it might also be a connection issue. Can you please check if it makes any difference if you use a different internet connection?
Can you also please tell me where you are located? Thanks.

Hello,
I have a similar problem and opend a thread some days ago: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/modern-backend-not-usable-with-ie-11-on-windows-10
I also found a large number of people with that problem, while searching through that forum with the keyword “stats”, or “backend”.
The strange thing is, everything works fine with Edge and maybe (I never tested it) other browsers.
Only IE seems to be affected.
I made a test with “F12” in IE, but since I´m not a developer, I don´t know if this is relevant here: Browsing to the new backend gives something like “the object does not support the property or method
find” (This is a word-by-word translation from German).Regards,
Rolf

Hi Rolf,
Thanks for posting here. Can you please take a screen shot for me of the error you see in the console in IE? You can use the snipping tool in Windows to do that. Then upload it to your media library so I can see it.
https://nieronet.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php
Also take a screen shot of what you see at http://supportdetails.com/ and upload that for me.
Are you able to try this on a different connection? Or maybe just a proxy/VPN connecting via a different country than the one where you live. Thanks.

Hi,
here are the requested uploads:
https://nieronet.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/dom-explorer.jpg
https://nieronet.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/konsole.jpg
https://nieronet.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/supportdetails.jpgI don´t think that this is a connection problem, since you find similar posts from all over the world (I just found two posts in the German forum).
Yesterday I found someone, I think somewhere from Asia, who wrote a blogpost about that problem and linked a bunch of posts from that support forum as example (Unfortunately I can´t find that today).
If you didn´t change something on your side, maybe MSFT changed something in one of their latest updates (August Patchday).
Maybe I can test a connection from a remote machine over the weekend. I will post my result, if you want. Unfortunately, I can`t change the country, only the ISP.
Regards,
Rolf

As I mentioned, I can access WordPress.com fine in IE11, and I have all the most recent updates installed on that machine so I doubt that’s the problem.
Thanks for the screen shots. Some developers are looking at it now and it seems you might have provided us with the information we need to find the cause of this. I’ll keep you posted.

Hi everyone,
This issue should be fixed now, thanks to the screen shots @nieronet provided.
Can you please clear your cache in IE and any other browser where you were seeing this error, and let me know if it still won’t load for you? Thanks.

Oops,
No more than 24hours, this problem seemed to be solved.
Now I have logged in to my blogs, and find everything is fine now.I was surprised to have found
– most of all other browsers except IE, accept third party cookies as default setting
– there seemed to be no web progamming tool make it clear if using local cookies and storage area, or not
– not small numbers of IE users using high privacy cookies setting
– despite, some of “evangelist” are using IE accepting third party cookies and allowing stealth trackers any behaviors as they wantARIGATO and Thank you all who fixed this problem, or who write, who concerned, of course who screen-captured, nieronet.
I’d like to close this topic as [solved]
