This first bit will get rid of most of it.
.home .hentry, .home .entry-content, home .entry-summary { padding: 0 !important; }To close it up even more if desired, add the following also.
.home .entry-header { display: none; }Note that I have specifically targeted the home page, http://terredoc.wordpress.com/ , so this will not change the spacing on any other pages.

Which text do you want smaller? The content text on the main page? I would be reluctant to make it any smaller. You could tighten up the line spacing a little, or perhaps make the main page content area a little wider if you are just looking to shorten up the space the text takes up.

The text on the main page is a blockquote. You could shorten that up by taking the text out of blockquote. Since there is no other text on that page for comparison, the blockquote is not obvious anyway.
I could target that text on the main page and make it wider by reducing the margins for the blockquote.

yes that the text on the main page and i agree with you.
Then maybe just could tighten up the line spacing a little. -
in fact I made this text in a blockquote because the aspect was smaller… but i can do it in real text.

On the line spacing, use this as a starting point. Again I’ve targeted the home page specifically.
.home p { line-height: 140%; } -
You might want to tighten up the paragraph spacing as well. Add the following to the above I gave on the line height.
margin-bottom: 1.1em; -
