Blank web page

Hi, I’m trying to set up a landing page which has an uploaded picture, refers people to a Linkedin profile.
Below the header the bar says:
“Nothing Found
Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.”Is there a way to remove this until the site has been built and just use it as a landing page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

By default the front page of your blog displays all posts. The 404 (page not found) error message on the front page of the blog appeared because the Admin of the blog deleted the placeholder Hello World post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ As soon as you publish a post, not a page it will disappear. Read the differences between Pages and Posts.

There is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page. The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
To do that create two pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

Thanks for your help timethief. I’ve changed set the about page as the landing page for now which will help :)
Is there any way to remove the sections at the bottom of the page that say/link to :
Theme: Twenty Eleven | Blog at WordPress.com

No there is not. Removing any footer credit links is a ToS violation. Please read all of the sections in the Custom Design Frequently Asked Questions. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions
May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide the footer credits or the toolbar with CSS after purchasing a Custom Design upgrade. -
