Blask Portfolio Password
-
Hello,
I’m trying to password protect my portfolio page using the blask theme and it’s not working. I can password protect the individual portfolio items, but not the main page that houses those items.
I’ve tried changing the visibility on the portfolio page just as I did the individual items, but for some reason the portfolio page will not prompt viewers for a password.
Can anybody help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @hamdiissawi!
I see what you mean – after testing on different site, it doesn’t look like the Portfolio Template is running the password check. I wasn’t sure at first if this was related to the portfolio being on your home page, but it doesn’t look like that’s the reason.
I’m raising a bug report with the design team so they can take a look – we’ll post here when we know a bit more :)
In the meantime you can, if you’d like, mark the entire site as private. This would mean that only WordPress.com users you have approved are able to see it. A bit different than the password you were initially setting up, but I wanted to offer it as a possibility :)
An advantage of this approach would be that it also impacts automatically generated pages, like the automatic portfolio archive page or other things like category pages, which cannot be password protected.

Thanks, Chad! I’ve decided to password protect specific portfolio projects in the mean time. Appreciate you looking into this.
Cheers!

Hi @hamdiissawi,
We’ve added a check to the Portfolio Template, so if the page it’s assigned to is password protected, it will show the password form, rather than the projects.
Thanks for letting us know about this! If you have any questions at all about this, just let us know!
