Hi carolinerobertsartworld
I found this support page, please check if you accomplished all the steps at https://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/
at Blask official page, they state that this theme works with Portifolio page template, so probably its just a matter of setting it right.
If you need more assistance, don’t hesitate to contact us again

Do you still need help with this? The portfolio template in Blask is designed to display portfolio projects, like you see on the demo:
https://blaskdemo.wordpress.com/
Looks like you’ve added one portfolio project so far:
https://carolinerobertsartworld.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1942&action=edit
Try adding a featured image to that portfolio project so an image will appear on the homepage, once you’ve created a static homepage and set it to use the portfolio template. The full setup guide is here.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi, I might decide on having the blog as my first page instead of a static page. If I make a static page it seems like my blog disappear. But I am not sure yet how I want that part to look. It might be more clear to someone visiting where they are if the first thing they meet is static. Thank you for helping me out.

If I make a static page it seems like my blog disappear.
What you’ll need to do if you set a static page as your homepage is create a blank placeholder page called Blog.
You then assign your posts to that Blog page, via the Customizer’s Static Front Page panel.
Add your new Blog page to a custom menu and you’re all set.
There’s a step-by-step guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
