Blask Theme Queries: Is it Possible?
-
Hi there,
Is it possible to add further widgets to the Blask theme, or some kind of customization that would achieve something similar? e.g. Below the menu would be a great spot to add a couple of images.
Is it possible to remove the right hand side tags with some CSS?
Is it possible to reduce the white space between portfolio images, so that the images join – like the Photoblog theme by Automattic? I would LOVE to try that theme out, but it is impossible to demo other themes in Customizer due to my current portfolio page.
Finally, I set this free theme up before I signed up to the premium plan, am I missing out on some great features found in premium portfolio themes. Would you recommend a different theme for my content?
Thank you

Hi amandalakey.art,
Answering some of your questions-
Yes, it is possible to add a custom widget area to your theme with the use of CSS and it is also possible to place it at a position you like. You would require a good knowledge of CSS though.
I am not sure about the right side tags you are talking about. Is it the ‘Follow’ button you are referring to? I’m positive, that even that can be handled by CSS.
Also, yes it is possible to reduce the space between images by using CSS, by reducing the margins between the picture elements.
Talking about the Premium plan, it is actually worth it with all the features that you will get over the Free plan. Free plan is just a basic plan with a lot of limitations, to utilize wordpress to its potential a paid plan serves well.
Why don’t you check out the plan descriptions in details here and see what you will like-

Hi,
Thank you I will ask in the CSS forums then. I was referring to tags (keywords) which are prominent on Blask on the right hand side of all content, not sure why they need to be on public view, to me they are just taking up space.I am on the premium plan already, and wanting to know if I am better off using a premium plan than customizing this free one.
Thanks Amanda

For extensive customization of your site, I feel you should carry on with your Premium plan. That will give you more control over your site.
About the tags, you should be able to do away with them or hide them using CSS. Try checking on the CSS forums.
Cheers!
