Blavatar (aka favicon) and firefox (and apple)
-
I’ve set up an image I wish to use as favicon (under Settings -> General), and I think I did correctly, but (on firefox) the damn thing just doesn’t show up! Yes I cleared the cache. I’ve then tried Konqueror, and the image appears. When I looked at the source HTML, my custom favicon appears in a <link rel=”apple-touch-icon”, instead of a “regular” <link rel=”icon”. Not having any other explanation for what happened, how do I solve this problem? I.e. how do I make the icon appear in Firefox?
Thanks in advance.

I’m seeing your blavatar just fine in Safari and Firefox on my Mac.
Log out of wordpress, clear everything, cookies, cache, form & search history, browsing & download history, then restart Firefox and take another look.

Now I am also seeing it correctly. I’ve checked the source and now all the “link rel” are pointing to the correct URL. I’m at a different machine now, so maybe that explains it… Anyway, now I know it’s not WP.com problem! (and that it is working :D)

If it doesn’t sort out on the other computer, try rebooting the other computer, and if that does not work, then just forget about it and at some point it will just magically appear for you. It could be an invisible proxy server somewhere between you and the wordpress servers that have the old one cached and it might just take some time for them to update things.
