Blavatar – For more consistency and clarity on the interface

  Hello all,

  I only recently discovered the existence of the blavatar, or rather, that the Blog Picture / Icon is actually called as so.

  Looking at the blavatar documentation, here are some suggestions I feel could bring more consistency and clarity throughout the interface, and give the blavatar the recognition it deserves:

  1. http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/blavatar-upload.png?w=688
  – replacing Blog Picture / Icon with Blavatar, or have Blog Picture / Icon (Blavatar)
  – change ” … to be used as your blog image across …” to ” … to be used as your blavatar across… ” or ” … to be used as your blavatar image across… “

  2. http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/crop-blavatar.png?w=688
  – change “Choose the part of the image you want to use as your avatar.” to “Choose the part of the image you want to use as your blavatar.”

  More consistency will also make it clearer for users to distinguish gravatar vs blavatar, and help with asking better questions in the support forum.

  How about you post this idea in the Ideas section of the Forums? Your idea is more likely to get more visibility there.

  It is posted under the Ideas sub-forum.

  It does looks like that unlike the other sub-forums, articles posted under Ideas also appear in the Latest Discussions, on the main page of the Forums, and that, I can’t do nothing about. :)
