Blix theme front page troubleshooting
-
Hi, I’m having trouble with the front page on my Blix-themed blog at http://nurseandlawyer.wordpress.com. The background is grey and the sidebar drops down. Other pages, including posts and other blog pages, are OK.
What’s going on? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This typically happens when there is an open HTML tag somewhere in one of the posts on the main page.
First go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and click “save changes.”
Next, open each post on your main page in the post editor, make one small change (add a space and then delete it) and then click “update post.” That should take care of it and the setting change should keep it from happening in the future.

There are formatting issues that need to be kept in mind when using the more tag, and it is covered in somewhat in this support document, http://support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/ (near the bottom under formatting issues), and then in a little more detail in this blog post http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2008/08/21/avoiding-the-more-tag-woes/ .

This happened to me this morning after I spent all night entering code to put Add This buttons on everything.
thesacredpath’s fix worked for me on Mistylook as well.
