block editor is making me insane
-
@themagicrobot You are the one who helped me in my thread aren’t you? I only deleted the blog a couple of days ago. The thing is though it’s such a lot of bother to go to when all staff had to do was enable the Classic Editor for me. I have an old account, so they could have allowed me to have the Classic Editor on my new blog. I have gone off the idea of a new blog now as at some point everyone will have to use the Block Editor and I just do not like it, and I never will. Thank you for all your help.

@blaiddcelf,
Staff had a policy earlier this year of enabling access to the Classic Editor when access was requested, they did so on sites in new accounts where no access was available by default. Access should be available on all sites in your account, so there’s nothing for staff to enable.
When you log in, do you go to the My Sites interface or to the WP Admin dashboard? If the latter, then try logging in at this URL: https://mybeautifulwonderfulsite.wordpress.com/wp-login.php, changing the site address to your own. For my older accounts this log in address opens to the WP-Admin dashboard, not the Reader in My Sites or some other My Sites page.
The block editor is only found in the My Sites interface, but you don’t have to go to the My Sites interface to use an editor.
I find that the My Sites interface can be generally be avoided entirely while working on my websites. For example, creating or editing posts and pages, adding or managing widgets, creating or managing header images, menus, etc., are all done in WP-Admin. I only go to My Sites rarely, for such things as changes to Account Settings, Gravatar profile, Followed Sites, etc.

Another thing you can do is keep a collection of bookmarks for various WP-Admin pages that you use frequently.

Sorry, another correction:
When you log in, do you go to the My Sites interface or to the WP Admin dashboard? If the former, and you’d that it open at the WP-Admin dashboard, then try logging in at this URL: https://mybeautifulwonderfulsite.wordpress.com/wp-login.php, changing the site address to your own.
