Block Editor not an option for custom page types or custom posts

    I can see/use the Block Editor on regular Pages and Posts, but not on custom post or pages.

    I don’t have either of these plugins: ‘Classic Editor’ or ‘Disable Block Editor plugin’.

    I’ve checked all of the activated plugins against this list: https://wordpress.com/support/incompatible-plugins/

    I’ve tried deactivating some of the more unusual plugins and then clicking ‘add [custom] post’ but have not had any success with making the Block Editor appear that way either.

    I’ve had a look round the admin panel but I don’t see anything that is causing Block Editor to be inactive on the custom pages/posts. Please advise. Thank you!

    Hi there,

    What site do you need help with? It doesn’t sound like your site is hosted on WordPress.com, but rather using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We’re only able to help with sites hosted on our servers at WordPress.com.

    Please ask the WordPress.org community for advice instead in that case. They provide support for the version of WordPress you’re using:

    If I had to guess, it sounds like the plugin you’re using to add the custom post types might not be compatible with the block editor itself.
