Block Editor Not Working

    While writing paragraphs in the block editor I suddenly lose my ability to write or edit text, often happens when I try highlighting or selecting multiple blocks to either copy or delete them. Doesn’t matter what computer I’m using the block editor just stops allowing me to write text and the only solution I’ve found thus far is refreshing the page and risk losing progress.

    Thanks for letting us know.

    We’re aware of this issue, but we can’t reliably reproduce it, so we’re not able to figure out what’s causing it.

    Does it happen for you only when selecting text across multiple blocks, or in other circumstances as well? And does it happen every time you take a particular action, or only intermittently?

    Can you tell us what operating system and browser, including version numbers you’re using?

    Does it help at all to use a different browser?

    The more information we have on this, the better the chance that we can narrow down the cause, so I’d appreciate any details you can provide.

    Meanwhile there is a workaround that works in some cases: The next time the editor does this, if the block toolbar above the block is visible, click the three dots, and click Edit as HTML. Then switch back to Edit Visually. Switching the entire editor to HTML mode and back should also work so you can continue editing, or at least save before refreshing the page.
