block editor – pasting
-
I initially use Microsoft Word to bash in words for my articles. When they are in a modest sort of shape I paste them (CNTRL+V) into a page on WordPress.com.
The latest example was about 2.5K words. I have noticed that when I try to modify a paragraph block immediately after the paste that I have difficulty getting access to the block, i.e. no cursor can be displayed within the block.
If I come out of the page .. having saved it of course .. and I then open it again .. the problem has disappeared.

Hi there,
It’s not recommended to copy-paste from Microsoft Word as Microsoft Word is a word processor and not a web publishing tool. Therefore, it will bring over messy HTML that does work well with the editor. To fix this issue, you would need to manually check the HTML by clicking on the three vertical dots and choose Edit as HTML.

Hi,
I will close this topic, but please note that I am talking about pasting plain text .. no links, images, bold, italics etc etc. Absolutely, nothing fancy at all.
