Block feature to disallow certain blog subscribers
-
Does anyone find the need to control who subscribes to their Blog? I have been into it and current features are too carte blanche. What i think may be a good idea is selective control similar to leading social network sites.
thanks

The problem is, how do you stop them? IP addresses are no longer unique, ISPs assign blocks of users to a single IP address. They can put in anything they want for a username, and email addresses are seriously simple to get.
And what good does it do to block someone from subscribing? They can simply go to your site and look at it. It’s like trying to keep someone from walking down your street and looking over at your house.

Yes of course they can look any time at your website, however it reduces the number of times you have to ‘delete’ any inane or malicious comments they post, because their subscription is not ‘reminding them’ all the time to look at your site. Stalkers. Just like social sites, of course they can keep using diff emails and long ins, but they will tire or get bored with this. So at least if you can bar usernames you have some control.

You should be able to put their user-name in the “spam if contains these words” section and then their comments would go to spam directly.
