block quote issue — the vertical bar needs to go away
-
Just started seriously blogging with WordPress (i.e., I’m a WP newbie). As of right now, I’ve posted my second article and it includes a block quote. The problem is that WordPress draws the nice red vertical bar to the left of the quote at the left margin of the page. Click on the cheshiresgrin.net link and scroll down to the block quote and you’ll see what I mean. Other then selecting Block Quote as a formatting option I don’t know what I did to cause that vertical bar to appear. So, how do I get rid of it??
I don’t know whether this is pertinent or not. I’m using the WordPress client for Macintosh v3.2 to actually and publish my blog entries. It’s within that client that I selected the block quote option since the indenting disappeared when I pasted the text into the client.
Thank,

Hi there,
The left border color and size is defined by the Gateway theme you are using. It is a styling choice made by the developers of this theme. You can get rid of the line by using Custom CSS, which is available on Premium and Business plans.

If you are on a Premium or Business plan you can access your CSS panel by going to your Customizer and then choosing CSS which will open a field where you can paste this code:
blockquote { border-left: 0px; }
