Hello!
You are currently in the forums where people can come to and ask for help, feedback, guidance, or really anything else at all.
These are short hand code insertions to make it readily easy for users to use on the forums.
Strong: is used to add bold to your text within the text window. To use this click on “strong” (it will insert the code) then type what you would like to have bold and then click strong again when it looks like “/strong” to close the tag and end the bold
Em: is used to add italic to your text within the text window. To use this click on “em” (it will insert the code) then type what you would like to have italic and then click em again when it looks like “/em” to close the tag and end the italic.
Link: is used to create a hyperlink to a another web page. Click on “Link” and it will ask you the URL and then you can add in what you would like the clickable text to say.
UL and OL stand for “Unordered List” (or a list with bullet points) and “Ordered List”(or a list numerically 1, 2, 3, ect.) and LI stands for List Item. These two actually go together but are rather simple to use. First you would click either “UL” or “OL” (depending on list preference) to start the list (do not click it again just yet). Then on the next line in the text window you would click “li” to open the line item for the list, then type in what you would like the line item information to be, then click “/li” to close the list item. Every line item opened needs to be closed in order to add the next item in the list (moving from item 1 to item 2 for example). Then finally once the list is completely done you would click on “/ul” or “/ol” (which ever one you used) to close it out. An example of a list is as follows:
- item 1
- item 2
- item 3
Quote and code you would not have to use really starting out.
Close can be clicked if you have any open tags and it will automatically close them for you.
I hope this helps! Feel free to mess around on this forum and I will subscribe to give feedback should you have further questions. :)
