I need to know the advantages of blocks, as so far I have only found it to be time consuming and difficult to use. What are the advantages over classic? Why should I stay with WordPress?

We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/

If you have any feedback on the new editor, we’re always looking for ways to improve it, so please let us know!

To improve the block system, make the tools visible when a post is being written. With the block editor, the tools are hidden and that means that 1. You need to remember where it is and 2. It adds a step in using the tool.
There are certain blocks I use a lot. After I use them, they appear in the first menu of blocks, but they don’t stay there. I don’t see how, but it would be nice if I could make they ones I like stay in the first block menu ( even for different posts). -
Thanks! I’ll pass that feedback along!
As for the toolbar at the top of the block, it should appear whenever you move your mouse. Is it not doing that for you?
