Block type Gallery: Images won’t open in a carousel

I’m using the block type Gallery in a post and I set ‘Link to: Media file’ in the right admin panel. And as far as I have read that setting should have the images in the gallery open up in a carousel. But it doesn’t seem to work. When a user clicks an image in the gallery the full size image is opened in the same window (the image url), and there is no carousel functionality. Am I missing something or is it a bug?

Hi Magnus, the questson.com is not hosted here at WordPress.com either. It is hosted at Hostgator, so you would need to seek help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ for that site also.
Both of the sites are connected to WordPress.com via a Jetpack plugin. The Jetpack plugin requires some of our resources for the features it offers. The site are not hosted here at WordPress.com though.
