Block Viewer

  I don’t like the idea of making my blog private to all. But I’d like to be able to block certain users from viewing my site and I’d like the ability to report users.

  This would make WP a bit safer too. Would anyone else want this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can’t block viewers. It is like trying to keep someone from looking at your house when they drive down the street.

  If you were to block by IP address or email, they simply use a different email or they go to a wi-fi hotspot, or use someone else’s computer. And IP addresses are no longer unique. ISP’s assign many different users to a single IP address so if you block an IP address, you could be blocking hundreds of people

  If they are showing up and commenting, set your blog so that all comments require moderation.

  Yes! I’d like to be able to block specific sites (e.g., blogs on my blogroll) from referring my site without having to make my blog fully private – because I’d like to be able to share my link with specific people without them having to become a member.

  I have currently blocked my blog from search engines; but in a sense, I’d like to enable ‘hiderefer’ for links I refer to via my posts or blogroll.

  @lisaponniah-you’ve already done this by making your blog completely private. You will have to invite specific people to view your blog (up to 35 for free) and they will have to open a WordPress.com account to access your blog.That’s the only way you can do this on WordPress.com.

  I don’t know what you mean by this as the law does apply in cyberspace and if we are being threatened or harassed we can contact police.
