How many sites have you followed in a short period of time? There is an antispam measure that blocks folks who go overboard and subscribe to too many sites in a shot period of time.

Bulk following many sites in a short period of time is a spammer behavior, so that is why the antispam limitation exists, and for obvious reasons that limit number will not be revealed to us.

@emiliedrishinski sorry, we won’t be unblocking. You are following quite a few blogs right now, but if you run out of reading material you can follow a tag instead.

@emiliedrishinski no, sorry. Is there a reason you’ve been following so many sites so quickly? Usually this is a spamming technique.

May I offer something please? I blogged for over a decade and I never ever followed any site simply because that person followed my site. It’s not the number subscribers that count ( I have an achived site with over 6,000 subscribers and despite the notice that it is archived and no follow blog widget being provided people are still subscribing.) Likes don’t amount to much either. There are spammers who follow many sites thinking that their site will be followed in return. There are like button clickers that do the same thing with the same motivation.
True engagement happens through submitting meaningful on topic comments to posts on sites with similar content.

Our follow tool is for actually following sites, not for growing your own blog. You can follow topics in the reader if you need to follow more, but we won’t unblock for more “growing” in this way.
Please avoid any type of behavior meant to get people to follow you in bulk by pretending to follow or like them.
