Blocked due to multiple signups, please help!!

Hi there, I am running a summer school and am trying to help students start individual blogs to document their time in another country. Unfortunately I keep getting the following error:
Whoops — lots of signups are coming from your network. Please try again in a bit.

Is there any way to disable this block for the next 24 hours from my network? I need to start approximately 100 blogs quite urgently! I would appreciate any help.

Let me know if you need any more info. Thank you very much in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi rpjc01,

I also ran a workshop that taught using the WordPress.com platform, I was also worried that I will be hitting their limits that time so I contacted their support team and gave the IP address of the place I’m doing it and the date so they can place maybe in their whitelist.

Hopefully one of the mods can help you out on this matter if you can provide the IP address of your place.

    Thanks for your repy carlalberto.

Our IP address for the above network is 110.170.39.2

I hope that helps in my predicament!

    Thanks very much, Rich.

https://ilovecats925.wordpress.com/ is an empty site hosted by wordpress.COM.

I think you could be confusing wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG but we cannot determine anything at all or provide any support unless or until we have the URL of the site referred to and have confirmed hosting.

Note that about 30% of those who post here daily are posting to wrong support forum and the answers to wordpress.COM and WordPress.ORG support questions are not the same.

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. We cannot provide support for sites that are not on our servers. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. That support is found at http://wordpress.ORG/support/
    (3) sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. That support is found at http://jetpack.com/support/

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, run different theme versions of themes with the same names, and many people get confused about the two. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ as you could be posting to the wrong support forum.

The wordpress.ORG support forums are at http://wordpress.org/support. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

You can confirm where your site is hosted by typing the URL in here http://www.whoishostingthis.com/ You may need to contact your web host.

Thanks for the clarification but my site is hosted by wordpress.com. You’re right, https://ilovecats925.wordpress.com/ is an empty site that I’m using as a demonstration in class before the students create their own.

The problem I have is that wordpress.com won’t let users from our school network create any more accounts because it thinks we’re launching an attack. I just want them to lift the block so that the remainder of our students can set up their own blogs.

  • Hi @rpjc01,

I have contacted our internal team in regards to whitelisting your IP address. I will update you once I hear from them that they were able to do so.

    Thanks!

  • We apologize for the delay – we just want to make sure that you are still in need of this request. If you still needing us to disable the block, let us know and we’ll do it ASAP.

    Thanks!
