blocked search engines?

When I went on my blog http://davidtennantsdoctor.wordpress.com I noted that below the title on my dashboard, it said “search engines blocked.”

Now, it didn’t say that yesterday, and I certainly did not change the setting to block search engines….so how could my blog have gone to “search engines blocked,” if I myself did not do it?

Again, I didn’t block search engines, as I have no reason not to. This apparently either happened either, on its own, or someone accessed my blog and did it without my knowledge or consent.

I do have an emotionally backwards cyber-bully and internet stalker, who periodically tries to change my WordPress password, as a way of trying to upset or annoy me, but I don’t see how, without knowing my password, he could get into my blog to change my settings?

Can a setting on my dashboard just change itself?

    What’s going on???

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, a setting on your dashboard CAN change itself; we see the visual editor resetting itself all the time. Otherwise, no, this shouldn’t be happening. Did you check your Privacy settings? Please do so and report back, because I think this may be related:

  • @drwhovian it didn’t change by itself. You changed it from public to private, then private to block search engines, on the 23rd and 24th of March.

tellyworth: sorry, but it didn’t have the “search engine blocked” notice next to the title on my dashboard, yesterday. And, search engines have been finding my site, according to WordPress stats. Is that normal?

Raincoaster, yes, I did check my privacy settings.
