Blocking an email address via FTP

    Hello,
    I have someone harassing me
They have been reported to the police (and interviewed)
They have had their Facebook page suspended due to harassment and they have been been warned by the courts to leave me alone.
A short while ago they attempted to post a nasty comment on my blog. However i have all comments referred tome first.
They had now added themselves to my Blog Follow & I wish to block their IP address but I understand this can only be done via the FTP server.

But I also believe that Blog Owners for WordPress cannot access FTP Server.

Can I send the IP address to another party to have it blocked?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

On WordPress.com we have no access to FTP.

We cannot block followers on a public blog. Here is a great explanation about the issue:

Moderating comments as you do as you said will keep unwanted comments on your site.

If you are in danger then please use legal means to counteract the threats: http://en.support.wordpress.com/disputes/legal-guidelines/

SO once someone has selected to follow my blog, regardless if its changed to private later, I cannot blog or remove them? Ever?

I have to say, this seems really odd.
I understand what PUBLIC means but I also understand what ANNOYING & Stalking means. Once they are following my log, they will know all my updates, my activities and movements… regardless of what you say, simply giving advice to “seek legal help” means nothing (really) until you are in physical danger (I know I’ve already GOT the restraining Order)
I don’t care how many times they change their email address, I want to be able to blog them from joining my blog — in fact, if someone keeps changing their email address, just to stalk/follow you, this is MORE evidence they are a potential threat, not less.

If you change your blog to “private” then only people you invite will be able to view it, including email notices about new posts.

I don’t know what happens if your blog is private for a while, then you change it back to public—I don’t know if your old subscribers would then be notified of new posts again or not. I’ve modlooked this topic so a member of staff can clarify. Or perhaps another volunteer will enlighten us about how that works.

If your site is public, then anyone can read it. Even if you block someone from subscribing to a public site, they can easily use your feed to read your blog: http://en.support.wordpress.com/feeds/

Also keep in mind that even if you change your site to private, there are many ways to view cached versions of what was once public.

As for blocking an IP address, the Support Articles have this to say:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/ip-addresses/

…you can choose to blacklist an individual’s IP address from Settings -> Discussion in your blog’s dashboard. This will send all comments from that individual directly into your spam queue.

When you set your site to private, your old followers don’t get removed from the site. However, they will not have access or get updates about your site unless you invite them to.

If you change your site back to public, your old followers will be updated about your posts again.

Please let me know if you have more questions.
