Blocking an ip address?

    Good morning,

    I am having numerous issues with one particular ip address contacting me through my contact us page.

    Is there a feature / method to block an ip address from visiting my website? I understand there is a mark as spam feature but this isnt what im looking for.

    Hi there,

    You can add that email address to the comments blacklist in the discussion settings. That should automatically spam contact form submissions from that person as well. You can add the IP address to the blacklist as well, but I wouldn’t recommend that, as IP addresses aren’t unique so you could end up blocking other people as well.

    Also do mark those messages as spam. Our spam filter, Akismet, is a learning program, so if you mark messages from that person as spam, Akismet will learn to spam future messages from them as well.

    However, there is no way to prevent that person from viewing your site or from using your form. All you can do is control whether you will have to see when they submit the form or not.
