Hi, I wonder if it would be at all possible to block some or any of my followers?

No, it’s not possible. As long as your blog is public, anyone can read and/or follow it. They don’t even have to have WordPress.com accounts, only internet access. The only way to control who can follow your blog is to set it to private. Then only people you specifically invite will be able to see it: http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
