Blocking followers
-
I’ve received a couple emails recently from WordPress saying congrats, So-and-so is now following you. Well “So-and-so” isn’t a real person. It’s most likely a bot or a phishing thing. I don’t seem to have the option to say no thanks, like I do on Twitter or Facebook, and I can’t find any way to block these types of followers. What can I do about this? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Anne,
Please note that it is not possible to block followers on a public blog. Even if we were able to do this, it wouldn’t stop this reader from viewing your blog. However, you can block them from commenting on your site.
To learn how to add a follower to your Blacklist, please check out:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-blacklist
You can also make your blog private, so only invited users can view it:
en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Let me know if you have any questions with this!
