Blocking page scraping

Hi, does wp provide a plugin or feature, which can prevent content scraping (disable right-click, copy function) from my site? The same question goes for images…how can I protect my images directly on site?

    Thanks,
    Mónica

    Hi there!

We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org. You can find out more about this topic here: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/

Also, disabling right-click will not protect your source code or images. Anyone who’s determined to copy your content or code will do so regardless of his or her ability to bring up a right-click menu. If they want your source code then it’s as simple as selecting ‘view source’ from the main menu of the browser. Article text can be highlighted and copied, images and media presentations can be retrieved from the cache and/or source code, and streaming media can be recorded. If it’s on the internet, it’s not secure from people copying it.

The only way you can properly protect your images is to watermark them and use a very clear copyright notice on your site to cover as many bases as you can. This page has some great tips on how to prevent content theft:

    I hope that helps!
