  Is there a block that will let me publish pasted text in a standard format, with indented paragraphs ? I don’t want my page to look like an email.
  Is there anyway to to un-italics a verse block?

  Yes you can try the “Classic Block” which will attempt to preserve any pasted formatting you have from another document (if it is formatting that it is possible to convert to online use) more info here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/

  Is there anyway to to un-italics a verse block?

  This is possible by adding custom CSS to your site (which we can help with) to override the default style and define your own text format for that block. However this is an option only with our Premium plan or higher. It is not possible to edit CSS on free or Personal plan sites.
