Blocks editor: Ctrl Z deletes content entire block and redo not working

    That just cost me about an hours worth of work. Sometimes I genuine dislike these blocks. I now have to basically go into an external editor to write a blog post
    . Can you even imagine on how many levels as a writer who has been working with WordPress for years this is?

    You know developers: sometimes if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, seriously upset about this, WordPress is a writing app, first and foremost, and you are messing with the basics here.

    How I can I turn Gutenberg off in WordPress? I hate it, genuinely hate it.
    It has a mind of it’s own, creates new blocks when I don’t want, is a pain to chose HTML layout to write normally, and I can go on and on.

    It has some good points like galleries, don’t get me wrong, and I usually don’t rant, but you are breaking the one thing that makes WordPress good: writing

    Then to mess with the undo function to the point that it deletes the entire content, maybe add a save as draft option (automatically) before undoing or something.

    TLDR: blocks has issues when writing, I want a better writing editor again, like WordPress used to be, and it is not because I can’t learn new stuff: IT JUST SUCKS!

    Hi there,

    I understand your frustration and with your current theme, you can revert to the classic editor.

    How I can I turn Gutenberg off in WordPress?

    You can switch to the classic editor by clicking on the three dots (next to the cog icon) at the top of the post or page editor and selecting “Switch to Classic Editor”.

    That looks so much better and easier to work with, I am legit tearing up

    Sorry I missed that in the admin area.

    Hopefully the whole thing will work out with the back end.
