Blocks merging
-
I updated my page last night using blocks. This morning I have come to edit the page and all of the blocks I was using have merged into one big block, and I am only able to add new blocks at the very bottom of the page – I need to add some more in the middle of a section.

We don’t have access to your editor. please post a screenshot of what you see, https://wordpress.com/support/make-a-screenshot/

Hi there,
So you’re referring to the page at https://kestrelseagles1920.home.blog/hl-5/, correct?
The blocks in that page didn’t merge.
It looks like you edited that page with the classic editor, which caused the page content to be converted from blocks into regular HTML. When you then edited it again after switching back to the block editor, the content got converted to a classic block:
To turn that page’s content into regular blocks again, select the classic block, and click the … icon in the block controls:

Thanks for this. I have tried this several times but nothing changes. All of the individual blocks I originally added are now in one big block.
I have only ever used blocks to edit content. -
Many thanks.
I have also done this several times, as well as converting to blocks as explained in the other post. No-matter what I do – it stays in one large block and if I try to insert anything it will only do so at the bottom of the page.
I added all of my content in blocks. Could it be do do with the fact the the person who added the page originally did it in classic?

Done. Unfortunately this has made no difference. I am able to edit the site at the bottom of the page using blocks, but as soon as I update, leave and go back into it, it has bundled everything up in the same block, and cannot insert anything into it.

If all the above suggestions have not worked, have you tried creating a new page and segmenting the content by copy and pasting each section into different blocks? That may be the easiest way to get the content separated the way you want. Or, if you want to preserve the actual current page, copy the content from that page, totally empty it, and then set up your blocks in the order you want.
