Blocks on Basics- allow comments/add category

  I’ve spent a lot of hours lately trying to relearn everything after the Dec changes and I’m really thinking it’s not worth the trouble. Please help this neophyte if you can!

  1- I still cannot turn on the ‘enable comments’ on my post. I’ve read the support pages, but have not gotten an answer. Again, Settings > Discussion options are properly checked, yet nothing. (Windows XP/I Explorer / DSL)

  2- I just tried to add a category, and instead of the addition, the entire navigation side bar completely disappeared. WTH/eck?

  …I wish people would stop making things ‘easier’!!!

  YOU’RE trying to ‘enable comments’ – I’M trying to ‘not allow comments’ !!
  And I can’t figure it out either.
  Maybe we should just swap computers.

  LOL Glenn– I have figured out my answer by mistake (which just created another question…sigh)

  Try this: go to page/post you want to turn comments off on and go into ‘edit’. Under the edit box you will see a list of topics. Double click on “Discussion”. You will find the ‘secret backup’ to your Settings > Discussion requests :) Hope that helps.
