Blocks on one site; does this automatically mean any new blog would be the same?
-
I have not created the blog yet that I am talking about. I have the domain, and wanted to check first with the Forum: with many blogs connected to my account, the majority are easy to navigate for me, however one of them I manage for my Dad required to have a Paypal button in it, so a kind member here helped me insert it into the website. This introduced me to the Blocks element, and to be honest, I cannot get my head round it. Leaving my Dad’s site as is (johnnyjones), I am concerned that when I create a new blog tonight, I would have to work with Blocks; is this the case?
So, just to summarize, would my new blog automatically revert to the Blocks, and if so how can I go to the older system, without having any affect on my other sites, including the one that needs the Blocks for Paypal.
Thanks

Hi Steve, new sites have blocks by default. If you need us to switch that to classic, for now, let us know. Just note classic may not be available indefinitely. So if there’s any chance you can provide feedback on the issues you’re running into with blocks, we can get that noted so we can hopefully sort it out.

Hello Supernova and thank you for taking the time to help me out.
I will create a new blog in the morning (GMT) under this account, and get in touch if that is okay.
Feedback will be forthcoming on Blocks, tomorrow, once I get a feel again for starting a new blog.
Best wishes
Steve

Hi again
This is taking longer than I thought! It has been a while since I created a new website, and my brain is dragging its heels.
At least I have the domain secured so you can relate:
autismworldgroup.wordpress.comWill check in when I get further down the line.
Thanks

Hi
I am struggling to get back to the WordPress help here, as Food Deliveries have become my priority!
Put some time a side to try and get a couple of hours tonight, to see if I can do enough on the domain to have it looking decent.I may even try a new theme!
Thanks for your patience

Hi
I have been thinking for a while that I would like to insert a Forum on my website, when it goes live. I would like advice on that, but wondering if blocks or classic are both options for a Forum?
Thanks

Hi there,
When considering a forum on WordPress.com, the editor you’re using isn’t as much of a factor as the type of theme you will need to use. Also, to create a forum like the one you’re currently posting in, you will need to install a plugin which requires the Business Plan:

Hi
Thank you for the answer regarding Forums, and although it was a wee bit off topic, it was my plan for the future, once my site was more established. I think that I will give that a miss for a few years anyway.
Back to subject, and I have been practicing using the blocks on other sites that I manage, and I still get frustrated at not being able to whizz through creating pages/posts as quickly as I am used to using the Classic format.
I will persevere for another week or so, and if needed, I will come back and ask for help.
Thanks
