Blog 1 messes up Blog 2
-
My first blog (2017) was helpful through iPower – a professional blog. Now I want to have a second blog for fun. However, somehow Blog 1 works via WordPress and iPower BUT messes up Blog 2, which does NOT use IPower – just WordPress.
I can see Blog 2’s URL, but if I log in, all I can find is Blog 1.
I’ve tried for several days – even weeks – but I can’t figure out how I can keep working on Blog 2.
Help!
-
When I posted the above, I didn’t “provide … contact information when submitting this form” as stated. But I see that my username (kendlp) is on my post, so I’ll share my Blog 2: https://belitsheri.net/
-
Blog 2 is registered here under a different WordPress.com account, so you’ll need to log in with that account to access it.
-
MacManx – I’m still stuck. Could it be that Blog 1 (teachrcr.us) is messing up because it is from wordpress.com while Blog 2 (belitsheri.net) uses wordpress.org?

Hi there,
How exactly is blog 1 messing up blog 2?
belitsheri.netis the site hosted on WordPress.com whileteachrcr.usis a self-hosted WordPress.org site connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin. If the issue is thatbelitsheri.netshould be displaying a different site that is on WordPress.org, then it means that the domain’s nameservers isn’t pointed to the right site host. Is that the issue?Let me know, thanks!

That’s just landing on your primary site, which is what that particular general “Write” button all over WordPress.com is supposed to do. :)
You can change your primary site at https://wordpress.com/me/account

Ah, yes those pictures are helpful. I think I see the problem. You have belitsheri.net listed in your profile, but it’s still actually set up through a different account.
Would you like to be able to manage belitsheri.net using your kendlp account? If so, the first step is to log out and log back into the correct account.
Start here:
https://wordpress.com/me/accountClick log out. Then log back in with the other email address. If you can’t remember what you used, try sending yourself a contact here:
https://belitsheri.net/contact/Or, we can help you with account recovery if you’ve lost access to the email address.
Once you’re logged into the correct account, you’ll want to add kendlp as an administrator (or other user role if you’d like) under My Site > Manage > People.
Then, after logging out again and back in as kendlp, you can accept the invitation that comes via email. From there, you’ll be able to write to either site.
Let us know if you need any help with these steps!

Thank you, supernovia. However, as before, I just can’t make it work. I’ve followed steps as best I can, but it’s over my head – my dizzy head.
-
No problem, @kendlp, I know it’s a lot of steps, but we can help you through.
Can you start by logging out, and logging into the correct account? Come back and respond as that account when you’re logged into it, and we’ll help you through the next step.
-
supernovia – I think I’m gaining some traction. It looks like I found how to log into the correct account. Here’s another link – I think it shows that we”re on the right path.

I’m very sorry for the long lapse of time. And I really hope you and I can fix this soon.

Hi Ken,
This is the account you’re already logged in and contacting us from. Log out from it by clicking on the Log Out button below your profile picture and then log in to your other WordPress.com account (the one owning belitsheri.net). Please note that this other account was set up with a different email address and you need to use that address to sign in.
-
Hi Ken,
Please log out of the kendlp account, then try logging in by entering the username TeachRCR.

Hello again – I think things are a bit better, and I hope only one or two more changes will make it to work. So:
#1 A small change on the site – the banner follows a new bit of nonsense (“I read and write stories…”). Unfortunately, I can’t remember how I changed that nonsense.
#2 My Profile – looks good, yes?
#3 “You don’t have any WordPress sites yet.”
What’s the secret?

Argh! Maybe these links will work.
1. https://teachrcr.us/rs/ju1-a-first_page.png
2. https://teachrcr.us/rs/ju1-b-my_site.png
3. https://teachrcr.us/rs/ju1-c-no_site.png -
In screenshot three, it looks like you’re logged into the wrong account again, see how your avatar at the top-right doesn’t match? Always make sure you’re logged in with the account that has access to the site you want to work on.
To make things easier, have you considered just consolidating your sites under one account? https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
Your profile looks fine, but I figure that’s a personal decision any way. :)
Your site in the first screenshot looks a bit off because that’s just a post list, and your first post has very little content. Maybe you were going for a front page instead? https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
-
macmanx – I’ve been trying to use https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/ and it doesn’t work (for me, anyway).
This might be a clue: My early site – https://teachrcr.us/ – is a loop (see below). I think that TeachRCR and Berit-Sheri are tangled somehow. Any suggestions?
Ken
The page isn’t redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies. -
The problem is that you have at least 3 different WordPress.com accounts and continue to log into the incorrect one.
To access https://belitsheri.net/, you need log in with the username
teachrcr.If you’re logged in as
0northducks0orkendlp, you won’t be able to access the site.If you view the sidebar of your account page at https://wordpress.com/me , you’ll see the @username in the left-hand sidebar beneath your profile photo.
If that username isn’t
teachrcr, then please log out, and log back in asteachrcr.Once you’ve you’ve successfully signed in as
teachrcr, please post a comment on this thread so that we can check you’ve accessed the right account.Once that’s done, we can walk you through getting both sites under the same account.
-
Gary is correct, based on what you’ve been describing this whole time, you just aren’t logging in under the right account to access the sites you want to access.
The
teachrcraccount, for example, only has access to https://belitsheri.net/Your other accounts have access to other sites.
I strongly recommend making this all easier on yourself by transferring the sites to only one account: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
