  do I need a website to publish a blog?

  Hi @franbear148, a blog is a type of website. Do you need more help making it more blog-like and more relevant to your topic?

  If so, here are a few recommendations. Click that link for a video on general terms, or scroll down a bit for the section on starting a blog.

  Here are the basic steps:

  – Go to wordpress.com/themes and make sure you’ve picked one you like best. The layout and images and what not can be changed, and all of them can have a blog on the front page. It’s just nice to have a solid starting point.

  – Next, go to https://wordpress.com/pages and edit your front page. Click on the image to swap it out for one that fits your site. Change the text, too. You could even remove that whole section, or replace it with a different layout. Save your changes. You can always get the default layout back if you want it.

  – Next, go back to https://wordpress.com/pages and edit the Contact and About page. You can also delete them if you don’t want them. Click the three dots on the side, then trash.

  – Next, go to https://wordpress.com/posts. You’ll find some example posts there. You can delete those and write your own, or even just do test posts. I recommend using a featured image in each one: https://wordpress.com/support/featured-images/
