  I wanted to know two things.

  1. I have a domain registered with HostGator with a shared hosting plan. Can I use WordPress to build my website? If so, how do I do that?

  2. I have an existing blog on blogger.com, can I transfer the content to WordPress?

  Yes you can use your domain name with WordPress.com, you will need a Personal plan in order to get a custom domain.

  As you are moving from blogger there is a way to do it manually:
