  hey guys i am just starting with blogging and i’m lost. i need a domaine and a website. should i buy something on wordpress website or on hosting? any help will be priceless, thanks!

  Hi –

  No problem. It can be overwhelming when taking on something new, like building a site.

  Let’s start at the beginning. You’ve created a WordPress.com user account already, kattmie and have registered a free site with us. The site is at thefreewheelingorg.wordpress.com.

  Sign in at WordPress.com and click on My Sites in the upper left corner to load the dashboard and work on the site.

  In addition, there are several resources to help walk you through getting started. Check those out at:

  1. https://learn.wordpress.com/
  2. https://en.support.wordpress.com/video-tutorials/

  Hi thanks ;) the problem is my name of website is thefreewheelingorg.wordpress.com and i dont want it, i want to change it. should i delete the whole account and start over?

  No need to delete your account! Using your example, since it’s not included the “.wordpress” part, you’ll need to purchase a custom domain: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  You can do that here, but please bare in mind that this is a paid addition: https://wordpress.com/domains/add/thefreewheelingorg.wordpress.com

  thefreewheeling.org is currently available to register, but let us know if you have any further questions. :)

  Hi –

  Don’t delete anything :)

  You need that free .wordpress.com site address as it will connect to any custom domain that you choose.

  First step – figure out what plan you need for the site. Personal, Premium, or Business: https://wordpress.com/pricing/ get it added to your account.

  Second step – register the domain. Go to Domains – Add

  Give it a try and come back to me here if you run in to any questions or trouble.

  Once that custom domain is registered it will override the free site address. You’re still going to see the free site address on your account but any visitors to your site will see the custom one.
