Hi, I’d like to set up a new blog (ideally called ‘English Made Simple’ and as per my understanding of WordPress’s rules before, it would have been called englishmadesimple.wordpress.com), but it doesn’t allow me that option and instead suggests englishmadesimple followed by some numbers and then the wordpress.com

Even when I have chosen free options I am then taken to a page which requires me to choose one of 3 monthly payment options, I don’t wish to pay. What can I do to have a blog which is free every month as per WordPress rules in the past?

    Hi there,

#1: It could be that the domain has already be taken. I put englishmadesimple.wordpress.com into google and it looks like someone has just started customising the site. (It didn’t say the site doesn’t exist, it took me to a site called English Made Simple, but there isn’t much on the site yet; it looks like the site draft.)

#2: When you’re at the page to select plans, there should be a bar in the top of the screen that says ‘Not sure yet? Start with a free site.’ You can choose a free site there.

    I hope this helps!

https://englishmadesimple.wordpress.com/ exists and was created many years ago. Perhaps you could create a similar free site ending in .blog?
