  I want to change my blog address from alexachanbeautyblog.wordpress.com to alexachan.wordpress.com. It keeps telling me that the blog address I want to change it to is already taken, but I know it’s not because I cancelled it. When I type in alexachan.wordpress.com in the web address bar, it says that the blog has been deleted so why can’t I change my address to the one I want?

  Note that deleted blog URLs here are not recycled and no exceptions are made. That’s why 3 warnings are given and why a verification link in an email that must be clicked is sent in order to accomplish deletion.

  You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
