Blog Address

  Trying to start a new blog. The blog address I want comes up as unavailable “Sorry, that site already exists!”

  However, I try to go directly to that site and get “blah.blah.blah.wordpress.com is no longer available.
  The authors have deleted this site.”

  Anyone know what the disconnect is here? Am I missing something, or should it be available as a blog address?

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  However, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
