Hi I have change my blog address from sebastienpenmellenboret.wordpress.com to rememberingdisasters.wordpress.com. This was a mistake and wished to reverse to the original url but failed until now. Could you help please?

Hi Sebaastien – I’m sorry, but if you change a blog address and choose the option to discard the old one, the old one can’t be restored or used again. However, you can use any custom domain you like:

thank you very much for your help. The thing is that I have not discarded the old but could not find a way to recover it without getting the reply – this address is already in use (while I was the owner of it). Is there anything I can do? By the way, I have already purchased the domain I wanted. The thing is that I am afraid some people will still have the old blog address.

Hi Sebastien – I’m sorry, but it was discarded. It would have been possible to set up a site redirect on the old URL to redirect anyone who accidentally tried to go there, but since the old URL was deleted, it’s not possible to do that at this point.
However, was your old blog at the domain tsunamicultures.com? If so, that domain is pointed to your new one now, so most readers were probably going to that domain and will still arrive at your new blog. Plus, when you changed the site address, you retained the subscribers to the previous blog.

Oh I see – it does not matters so much then, and this blog is only at its early stage so there would only be a few subscribers.
